Aromatic Vanilla Infusion

This divinely scented vanilla mist is a gorgeous way to scent your hair

and body. A little spritz of this comforting aphrodisiac scent instantly sets

the mood to cozy and romantic.

YIELDS: 8 ounces

3 vanilla beans

8 ounces witch hazel

What you will need: cutting board, knife, 8-ounce bottle with cap,

funnel

1. To Make: Slice the vanilla beans into thin strips and cut into smaller pieces.

Place them into the bottle. Fill it up with witch hazel and shake well. Store

it in a cool dark place for at least two weeks. Ideally you will remember to

shake it up daily, but it’s okay if you skip a day or two. The longer you

leave the vanilla beans to soak, the stronger your infusion will be. When

you’ve reached your desired strength, strain out the vanilla and use a funnel

to pour the brew back into the bottle.

2. To Store: Label with expiration date of 2 years and store in a cool dark

place out of direct sunlight.

3. To Use: Shake well before each use. Use as a facial toner for normal to oily

skin or as an aromatic body, hair, linen, or room spray.

SKINCARE SECRETS

If you plan to use this Aromatic Vanilla Infusion in facial care,

consider mixing 1 part aloe vera juice with 3 parts Aromatic Vanilla

Infusion for added benefit. Start with a high quality witch hazel, easily

found at a health food store or online, that has a higher percentage

of witch hazel extract than alcohol.
