Invigorating Ginger Citrus Body Wash

Ginger and citrus make a divine scent combination that is also great for

your mind, body, and spirit. Warming, soothing, and revitalizing to the

senses, this body wash is great for invigorating your skin cells, increasing

circulation, detoxification, and promoting a more radiant skin tone.

YIELDS: 9 ounces

⁄ cup fresh ginger, finely chopped

⁄ cup sweet almond oil

2 tablespoons honey

10 drops lime essential oil

8 drops lemon essential oil

12 drops pink grapefruit essential oil

⁄ cup unscented liquid Castile soap

What you will need: cutting board, knife, double boiler, strainer, mixing

bowl, wire whisk, funnel, measuring cups, 8–9-ounce bottle and cap

1. To Make: Start the double boiler on medium heat. Once it reaches a boil,

reduce heat to simmer. Place the chopped ginger and sweet almond oil in

the top of the double boiler and cover. Simmer for 30–45 minutes, stirring

occasionally. To preserve the beneficial botanicals, do not overheat and

check back every 20 minutes to make sure there’s enough water in the

double boiler. Remove from heat; take the top pan off the double boiler.

Strain the ginger from the oil into the mixing bowl, using the rubber spatula

to get the remainder out of the pan. Add the honey and whisk together for a

minute. Add the essential oils and whisk to blend. Next, add the Castile

soap, stirring gently with the whisk to create a uniform liquid. Do not

overwhisk, as this activates the soap bubbles. Use the funnel to carefully

pour into your bottle and cap tightly.

2. To Store: Store in bottle. Label with contents and date and use within a

year.

3. To Use: Use as body wash in your shower or bath. Apply to damp skin in small upward motion rinse well.
