Manuka and Parsley Lightening Acne Mask

,Manuka honey is said to be the most beneficial for acne-prone skin due
to its highly antibacterial nature, but it’s okay to substitute regular honey if
you can’t find manuka. Parsley is rich in vitamins and nutrients and has
skin lightening properties, which help to fade acne scars and dark spots.
This powerful herbal mask is beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin type it can be used one per week.

YIELDS: 2–3 masks
⁄ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon manuka honey
1–2 teaspoons kaolin clay

1. To Make: Remove the parsley leaves from the stems to make ⁄ cup of the
leaves. Place the parsley, lemon juice, and honey in the blender. Blend on
low speed until you have a uniform mixture. Remove from the blender with
a rubber spatula and place into a mixing bowl. Add the clay a little at a
time, stirring to blend until you reach a spreadable paste.
2. To Store: This mask is best fresh. Store in a closed container in the
refrigerator and use within 4 days.
3. To Use: To use, apply to clean skin. Leave on skin 10–15 minutes and rinse
off with warm water. You may experience a mild stinging sensation from
the lemon juice. This is normal, especially if you have active acne
blemishes. Rinse immediately if you experience discomfort. Follow with
toner and moisturizer.
HELPFUL HINTS
I prefer to use flat-leaf parsley, which has a higher concentration of
vital nutrients, in this recipe. If you can’t find it, the curly leaf variety is a fine substitute.
