Oatmeal baths are relaxing and soothing, especially for skin that’s dry,
itchy, or inflamed. This bath helps alleviate the symptoms of skin
conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rashes, allergies, insect bites,
chicken pox, sunburn, and more. Chamomile will accentuate the calming
effect, leaving you comforted and relaxed in mind, body, and spirit.
YIELDS: 1 quart
⁄ cup sweet almond oil
1 cup baking soda
2 cups whole oats
⁄ cup dried chamomile flowers
⁄ cup dried lavender buds
What you will need: measuring cups, large mixing bowl, spoon, quart
jar with lid, small muslin drawstring bag
1. To Make: Mix the sweet almond oil and baking soda together in a large
bowl. It will be a dry mixture. Add the oats and stir. Add the chamomile
and lavender and blend to a uniform consistency.
2. To Store: Label and store in a tight-sealing jar for up to 6 months.
3. To Use: Loosely fill the cloth bag with the Chamomile and Oat Super
Soothe-Me Bath, making a sachet. Tie a bow tight enough that it won’t
come apart in use. Remember, you will need to untie it later to clean it out
and use it again.
Fill the tub with warm water and drop in the sachet. Do not use the sachet
to rub irritated skin, but gently squeeze the liquid from the sachet over your
body and relax. Dry off with care, using gentle blotting actions with a soft
towel over the itchy or sore parts of your skin. Repeat as needed. Oatmeal
baths are gentle and can be enjoyed every day.

rubber band or piece of string. Tie a ribbon around it to make it
pretty. You can use small cloth bags for the sachets. Package into
individual cello bags, and tie closed to retain freshness. Add a label
“Soothing Bath Sachet” with instructions for use and a “use by” date.
