Cucumbers and roses are widely known for their soothing, healing, and
anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. This soothing, refreshing
combination of cucumber and roses is beneficial for all skin types and
conditions, especially sensitive, maturing, overexposed, sun-damaged, dry or easily irritated skin.
YIELDS: 2–3 masks
⁄ small cucumber
⁄ cup fresh rose petals
1 teaspoon Fresh Comfrey Oil , grapeseed oil, or
your favorite carrier oil
What you will need: blender, knife, cutting board
1. To Make: Cut the cucumber into chunks, discarding any excess water,
leaving the pulp to make ⁄ cup and place into the blender. Next, add the
rose petals to the blender and cover. Blend in short bursts on high, adding
the comfrey oil a little at a time to achieve a thicker but uniform purée. Be
careful not to overblend, as the mixture may liquefy.
2. To Store: This mask is best fresh. Use immediately.
3. To Use: To use, apply a thick layer of the mask onto clean skin. Leave on
skin 10–30 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Follow with toner and
moisturizer.
HELPFUL HINTS
Choose robustly blooming roses to pluck the petals from for this
recipe. Pick them from your garden midmorning, after the dew has
