Rainforest Elixir Mask

The South American rainforest contains a plethora of superfoods and
medicinal plants, including yerba mate, which contains 24 vitamins and
minerals, 15 amino acids, and 11 polyphenols. Combine yerba mate with
acai berries, which have 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes, and
coconut milk, which contains the vitamins C, E, B , B , B , and B as well
as iron, selenium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, you’ll find that
this Rainforest Elixir Mask gives you much, much more than a
multivitamin for your skin.
YIELDS: 2–3 masks
2 tablespoons yerba mate leaves or 2 yerba mate tea bags
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons acai berry powder
1 teaspoon coconut flour
⁄ teaspoon coconut cream
What you will need: 1 cup glass measuring cup tea strainer, mixing
bowl, spoon
1. To Make: Place the yerba mate in the measuring cup and pour in the
boiling water. Cover and let steep for 20 minutes or more. Strain out the
yerba mate leaves and discard, reserving the brew. Place the acai powder,
coconut flour, and coconut cream into the bowl and stir. Be mindful not to
breathe the powders as you work with them. Add the brewed yerba mate a
little at a time, stirring to moisten all of the powder until you reach the

desired consistency of a thick but spreadable paste. You will use 1–2
teaspoons of brew.
2. To Store: This mask is best fresh. Use immediately.
3. To Use: To use, apply a thick layer of the mask onto clean skin. Leave on
skin 10–25 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Follow with toner and
