Detoxifying Seaweed Body Wrap

Seaweed wraps are popular in high-end spas for their advanced body

slimming, detoxification, and replenishing effects on the skin and the

whole body. This Detoxifying Seaweed Body Wrap is formulated with

antioxidant-rich green tea, magnesium-rich Epsom Salts, and kaolin clay,

which work together to draw out the toxins, impurities, and excess water

weight from your system while fortifying and re-mineralizing your cells.

The coconut water increases hydration and the skin’s ability to absorb

nutrients, and the lavender essential oil brings a touch of relaxing

aromatherapy, adding a fresh natural scent to temper the seaweed. This

recipe will help alleviate cellulite, sluggish circulation, sore muscles, and

dull or congested skin, and is beneficial for use on face and body for all

skin types.

YIELDS: 1 full body application

1 tablespoon Epsom salts

⁄ - ⁄ cup coconut water

12 drops lavender essential oil

⁄ cup kelp powder

⁄ cup green tea powder

⁄ cup kaolin clay

What you will need: mixing bowl, measuring cups, fork, washcloth,

plastic wrap, towels or blankets, 1 tight-sealing jar

1. To Make: Dissolve the Epsom salts in the coconut water by placing in a

mixing bowl and stirring gently. Add the lavender essential oil and stir. Add

the kelp and green tea powders and stir gently. Lastly, add the kaolin clay

and blend until you have a uniform consistency. If you need to adjust the

texture, add more coconut water or kaolin clay a little at a time, as

necessary to achieve an easily spreadable paste.

2. To Store: This mask is best used fresh. You can mix the powders ahead of

time and store them in a tight-sealing jar. Mix the coconut water with the

powders fresh before each use. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in

the refrigerator and use up within a day or two.

3. To Use: Apply to clean damp skin in small, upward motions. Start with

your body and finish with your face. Once you’ve covered your body, you

can wrap yourself in plastic wrap to amplify the effect. This will be easier if

you have someone help you, but it is possible to do it yourself. To get

started, step on the end of the plastic and wrap up one leg at a time, wrap

your torso, and then wrap one arm at a time. Wrap yourself in towels, a

sheet, or blanket that you don’t mind getting some of the mask on. Find a

nice place to relax for at least 20 minutes, up to an hour for maximum

benefit. Apply the mask to your face 15 minutes before you plan to wash

off, avoiding the eye area. To remove, get in the shower and rinse well.

Remove the mask from your face first and finish with your body. Do not

scrub the mask off; rather, thoroughly saturate with water and gently wipe

off with a soft cloth. Towel dry and apply your favorite moisturizer to your

body. For your face, follow with toner and moisturizer.

SKINCARE SECRETS

Remember to hydrate! With any type of detoxifying spa treatment,

you can easily dehydrate while your body sweats out the toxins.

Dehydrated cells are full of toxins, which can actually result in your

body storing more water weight than it needs. Drink ample water on

a regular basis, as it is helps your body process toxins by literally

flushing them from your cells. Always drink plenty of fresh water for

clear and beautiful skin.
